What is OptiInstrument?
OptiInstrument is Optiwave software providing virtual measurement instruments — optical spectrum analyzers (OSA), optical oscilloscopes, BER testers, polarization analyzers, and electrical oscilloscopes — integrated with OptiSystem. The program enables a realistic representation of a laboratory environment without the need for physical measurement equipment.
OptiInstrument is especially valuable for research centers and universities that want to conduct realistic laboratory experiments in simulated form, as well as for engineers verifying optical system designs before physical implementation. The graphical interface of the instruments is designed to faithfully replicate the appearance and operation of real laboratory instruments.

Does OptiInstrument work standalone or does it require OptiSystem?
OptiInstrument is designed as a complement to OptiSystem — instruments are placed in the OptiSystem block diagram as measurement elements. It does not work as a standalone application.
Are virtual measurements comparable to real ones?
Measurement accuracy depends on the accuracy of the component models in OptiSystem. With well-calibrated models, virtual measurement results correlate very well with laboratory results.
Is OptiInstrument included in the OptiSystem license?
OptiInstrument is a separate Optiwave product. Contact us regarding license packages — OptiSystem + OptiInstrument bundles are often offered at a favorable price.
