What is OptiSystem?
OptiSystem is Optiwave's flagship software for designing and simulating optical transmission systems at the transport layer level. The program enables modeling of entire transmission links — from the transmitter, through the optical fiber, amplifiers, and multiplexers, to the receiver — with a full signal quality analysis.
The program's library contains over 600 optical and electronic components, including models of lasers, modulators, fibers, EDFA and Raman amplifiers, WDM filters, photodetectors, and spectrum analyzers. OptiSystem supports WDM, DWDM, and CWDM technologies, as well as coherent systems and systems based on higher-order modulation formats (QAM, QPSK).
OptiSystem is the standard in telecommunications laboratories, research institutes, and electronic engineering and photonics departments at technical universities worldwide. It offers a dataflow-style graphical interface, intuitive for any engineer familiar with block diagrams.
