Optical and photonic simulation training

Getting productive with optical simulation software can be demanding, even for experienced engineers. We run training in TracePro, OSLO and RayViz (Lambda Research) and OptiSystem, OptiFDTD and the rest of the Optiwave suite — from the basics to advanced optimization — tailored to participants' real projects.

Upcoming in-person training

Warsaw — October 2026

A three-day in-person training in Lambda Research software (TracePro, OSLO, RayViz) led by our engineers. Places are limited — the exact date and agenda are set together with registered participants.

Training formats

The same depth of content regardless of format — pick the one that fits your team and schedule.

In-person

Small groups, hands-on exercises on your own hardware, and direct contact with the engineer leading the course.

Online

A live, remote session — the same curriculum and materials as the in-person course, without travel costs.

Custom, on request

A curriculum built around your team's actual project — based on the model you work with day to day.

Lambda Research training

TracePro

Ray tracing, illumination and non-imaging optics

From importing and building geometry, through properties and sources, to advanced optimization — lenses, reflectors and light guides, including tolerancing.

OSLO

Optical system design and optimization

Building an optical system from scratch, aberration analysis, optimizing against chosen criteria, and preparing a design for manufacturing.

RayViz

Ray visualization inside SOLIDWORKS

Integrating ray-trace analysis directly into the SOLIDWORKS environment — for teams designing mechanics and optics in one CAD tool.

Optiwave training

Optical transmission system simulation

OptiSystem

Designing WDM/DWDM links, BER analysis and amplifier performance — from a first system model to a full transmission-scenario analysis.

Waveguide and fiber photonics

OptiFDTD, OptiBPM, OptiMode, OptiGrating, OptiFiber

Designing waveguides, Bragg gratings and photonic integrated circuit components — mode, propagation and coupling analysis.

Automation and instrumentation

OptiInstrument, OptiSPICE

Automating lab measurements and combining photonic and electronic simulation in a single design flow.
